Dharamshala, April 4 -- Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and former union Minister, Shanta Kumar today expressed deep shock and anguish over a horrifying incident reported from Jharkhand, calling it a blot on a civilized society.
Referring to the incident in a village in Hazaribagh district, he said a woman allegedly sought treatment for her ailing son from a tantric, who advised that a "sacrifice" of a young unmarried girl was required to cure the boy. Misled by the tantric's claims, the woman reportedly agreed to the ritual involving her own 13-year-old daughter.
