Shimla, March 1 -- The Himachal Pradesh government has expanded its focus on early childhood care, nutrition, and foundational learning, placing child welfare at the centre of its development agenda.

A government spokesperson said on Sunday that a series of measures have been implemented to improve access to supplementary nutrition, early education, and health monitoring services for young children.

"At present, 18,925 Anganwadi Centres are operational across the state, serving as community-level hubs for child nutrition and pre-school education. Children up to six years of age are monitored regularly on key growth and developmental indicators to ensure timely identification of nutritional or health concerns," he said.
