Shimla, April 26 -- Himachal Pradesh has sought a central share of Rs 1,350 crore under the Urban Challenge Fund for urban infrastructure development, citing constraints of hilly terrain, limited revenue base and low private sector participation.

State Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh raised the demand while participating in a meeting chaired by union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar in New Delhi on Saturday.

Singh said the state has proposed projects worth about Rs 5,400 crore under the Urban Challenge Fund to create robust infrastructure and vibrant economic hubs in urban areas.
