Shimla, Jan. 14 -- : Himachal Pradesh is undergoing a major shift in its tourism landscape under the state government's 'Vyavastha Parivartan' vision, with an emphasis on integrating conservation, livelihood generation and economic growth, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said here on Wednesday.

He said the government is systematically harnessing the state's water resources, which remained largely untapped in the past, to create sustainable tourism opportunities.

The Chief Minister said Pong Dam Lake, a Ramsar-listed wetland, is being developed as a prominent bird-watching destination, particularly during the migratory season from November to February.
