Shimla, March 6 -- The Department of Language, Art and Culture, Himachal Pradesh, in an important initiative aimed at preserving and promoting the state's rich cultural and religious heritage, has published a coffee table book titled "Temples of Himachal".

The book was released by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister described the publication as a significant step towards taking the state's rich 'Dev Sanskriti' (divine culture) to national and international audiences.

He said that Himachal Pradesh has been a land of penance for sages and seers since ancient times and that the state's folk culture is deeply connected with faith in local deities.
