Shimla, Oct. 10 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister S. S. Sukhu has urged the Central government to provide a 'Green Bonus' to the state, arguing that it deserves compensation for the ecological balance it provides to the nation.

In a statement today, Chief Minister Sukhu said the state has made rapid strides toward realizing the vision of becoming a Natural and Green State. He elaborated that the term 'Natural' reflects the government's perspective towards sustainable development and the environment.

He stressed that the consistent effort across all sectors-be it agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, forestry, industry or transport-is to ensure that development principles are aligned with this "Natural" vision.
