Shimla, Jan. 28 -- Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday called on union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav in New Delhi and raised concerns regarding the assessment of Himachal Pradesh's forest and tree cover.
The Chief Minister informed the union Minister that while the officially recorded forest and tree cover of the state stands at 27.99 percent, the actual figure is approximately 29.5 percent. He explained that this discrepancy arises due to the non-inclusion of Trees Outside Forest (ToF) in the consolidated representation of the state's forest and tree cover.
