Shimla, March 3 -- The Himachal Pradesh government on Tuesday expressed serious concern over escalating tensions in West Asia, estimating that nearly 40,000 to 42,000 residents from the state are currently living and working across the region.
The concern follows reports of heightened conflict after military strikes involving the United States and Israel targeting Iran, prompting the closure of airspace in several parts of West Asia and disrupting international flight operations.
State Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan said that, so far, no Himachali resident in the affected countries has been reported injured or harmed.
