Shimla, Aug. 4 -- Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, along-with Lady Governor Janaki Shukla, visited the historic Markandeya temple in Bilaspur on the auspicious occasion of the holy month of Shravan.
They offered prayers at the revered shrine dedicated to Sage Markandeya. On this occasion, the Governor prayed for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state. He remarked that Sage Markandeya was regarded in Hindu mythology as one of the most devout followers of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.
He said, "The temple holds immense religious significance and was one of the most important spiritual sites in the region."
