Shimla, Feb. 7 -- The proposed special session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly to discuss the withdrawal of the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) appears to have been put on hold, as Governor Shiv Pratap Shukal has shown reluctance to attend the special sitting scheduled by the state government on February 17.

Vidhan Sabha sources said the Assembly Secretariat had requested the Governor to attend the one-day session proposed by the Council of Ministers. During a recent informal discussion with the Speaker, Shukla reportedly said he would instead attend and address the forthcoming budget session, in line with parliamentary convention.
