Shimla, March 31 -- The Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has enforced the Him Bus Card system across its bus network from Tuesday, making it compulsory for passengers availing subsidised travel including women to possess the card or pay full fare.
With the earlier relaxation ending on March 31, the corporation has issued fresh guidelines to all bus operators directing strict implementation of the system from April 1. Passengers travelling without a Him Bus Card will no longer be eligible for concessional fares.
The move comes after months of phased preparation, during which the corporation had allowed subsidised travel without the card. Officials said the deadline has now lapsed and no further extension has been granted....
