Chandigarh, Jan. 23 -- The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday directed the Punjab government to take a decision within seven days on the request of Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh seeking permission to attend the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament, scheduled to begin on January 28.
After issuing the direction to the competent authority, the High Court disposed of the petition. The matter was heard afresh after one of the judges had recused himself from the case during an earlier hearing on Thursday.
Amritpal Singh, currently lodged in jail under the National Security Act (NSA), had approached the High Court through his counsel seeking approval to participate in parliamentary proceedings. This was his third attempt to secure permis...
