Bulawayo, Jan. 16 -- India U-19 fast bowler Henil Patel credited South African pace legend Dale Steyn for inspiring his match-winning performance after he claimed a five-wicket haul against the USA in the ICC Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) website, the right-arm pacer produced a fiery spell to finish with figures of 5/16 as India registered a six-wicket win in their tournament opener, giving the five-time champions a confident start to their campaign.

Patel's effort is the third-best bowling performance by an Indian at the U-19 World Cup, behind Kamal Passi's 6/23 against Zimbabwe in 2012 and Anukul Roy's 5/14 against Papua New Guinea in 2018.
