Hyderabad, June 20 -- The 145th birth anniversary of Helen Keller, a global icon who championed the rights of people with disabilities and women, will be commemorated with cultural celebrations and an awards ceremony on June 27 at Sundarayya Vigyan Kendra in Hyderabad.
The announcement was made by Helen Keller Vidyasansthalam Chairman P. Umar Khan and National Platform for the Rights of the Disabled (NPRD) State General Secretary M. Adivaya during a meeting held at the Chikkadapalli Sangam State Office on Friday.
Telangana Cultural Saradhi Chairman Dr. Gummadi Vennela, Director of the Disabled Welfare Department B. Sailaja, and NPRD National General Secretary Muraleedharan are also expected to participate in the event.
