Washington, Dec. 3 -- Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth defended a follow-up strike on an alleged drug-carrying boat that killed survivors in the Caribbean Sea earlier this year, calling the incident a "fog of war."Hegseth has faced scrutiny since The Washington Post reported on Friday that he issued a verbal order to "kill everybody" aboard alleged drug boats prior to the September 2 strike, the first known U.S. boat strike in Latin American international waters. Two survivors clinging to the burning vessel hit by the initial strike were reportedly killed in the follow-up attack.
