Chandigarh, Feb. 19 -- Tensions flared in Ambala on Thursday as clashes broke out between Haryana Police and local farmers, leading to the removal of a 10-day-long protest site.
The confrontation occurred near Saphera village, where residents from five villages were demonstrating for nearly two weeks, demanding a designated access route to their fields from the under-construction Ring Road.
Police personnel reportedly uprooted the protesters' tents and detained several individuals after farmers attempted to blockade construction machinery.
