Kolkata, Sept. 24 -- The Calcutta High Court today dismissed a West Bengal government's health department notification transferring junior doctor Aniket Mahato to the Raiganj Hospital in North Dinajpur, and said the medic be posted at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, which he sought during counselling, court sources said.
Mahato is one of the medics who spearheaded the movement for removal of corruption in the RG Kar after a woman medic was raped and murdered on August 9, 2024 on the campus. He had challenged the government notification in the court saying his transfer was a punitive measure by the government for taking part in the agitation.
