Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Committee demands Land near Golden Temple for Sarai
Chandigarh, Aug. 7 -- : The Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) submitted a formal demand letter to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president today, requesting two acres of land near the Sri Harmandir Sahib corridor to construct a spacious sarai (inn) for Sikh devotees from Haryana.
The HSGMC chief sevadar, Jagdish Singh Jhinda, highlighted that Sikh pilgrims from Haryana often face accommodation shortages, leading to personal inconvenience and a sense of discrimination. "Discrimination against the Haryana Sikh sangat will not be tolerated," he stated, emphasizing that the proposed sarai is not only a necessity but also a matter of dignity for the Haryana Sikh community.
