Chandigarh, Feb. 22 -- A 45-year-old Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Haryana Police died allegedly by suicide after shooting himself with his service revolver at his official residence in Sonipat.
The incident occurred late Saturday night while the officer's wife was present in the house.
The deceased, identified as Jasbir Singh, a resident of Sitawali village, had been stationed with the Sonipat Traffic Wing for the past two years. According to police sources, Singh returned to his official quarter (B-1) in the Police Lines around midnight after completing his shift.
