Copenhagen, Jan. 19 -- An ambitious biographical feature chronicling the life of Danish literary icon Hans Christian Andersen is moving forward, with filmmaker Nikolaj Arcel set to direct "My Fairytale Life".
The project reunites Arcel with screenwriter Anders Thomas Jensen, continuing a creative partnership recently renewed on "The Promised Land", reports DEADLINE.
The film's synopsis reads: Hans Christian Andersen, a socially awkward nobody, moves to Copenhagen with dreams of conquering Denmark's cultural elite and becoming a famous artist. In a colourful and merciless world of actors, playwrights, and snobbish benefactors, Christian fiercely fights to get the recognition and love he so desperately craves.
