Hyderabad, Jan. 28 -- Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Wednesday announced a structured expansion into civil aviation as part of a long-term strategy to reduce its dependence on defence manufacturing, which currently contributes nearly 97 per cent of the company's revenues.

Addressing at the Wings India event, HAL Chairman and Managing Director Dr DK Sunil outlined a three-platform civil aviation roadmap covering regional fixed-wing aircraft, civil helicopters, and short-haul regional jets.
