Bengaluru, March 31 -- Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has achieved a record-high order book of Rs 1,84,000 crore, significantly boosted by a landmark contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the supply of 156 Light Combat Helicopters (LCH) 'Prachand' worth Rs 62,777 crore.

This marks the largest-ever procurement by the MoD from HAL, underscoring the company's growing role in India's defence sector.

The massive surge in HAL's order book reflects its increasing importance in defence manufacturing. The order book stood at Rs 1,84,000 crore at the end of the fiscal, compared to the opening position of Rs 94,129 crore.
