Lucknow, Feb. 9 -- The joint address to the Uttar Pradesh Legislature by Governor Anandiben Patel was marred by sloganeering from opposition members, who raised "Go Back" slogans in the House on Monday.

The Governor arrived at the Legislative Assembly at 11 am and was welcomed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the Assembly premises. She was accorded a guard of honour inside the House.

As Governor Anandiben Patel began her address to the joint session of the Legislature, opposition parties continuously disrupted the proceedings with slogans. Despite the uproar, the Governor continued reading her address.
