Hingoli, Jan. 19 -- In a major crackdown on banned tobacco products, police seized gutkha worth Rs 72.93 lakh from vehicles and godowns across Maharashtra's Hingoli and Nanded districts on Monday, officials said.
As part of the operation, police teams carried out early-morning raids in Hingoli and confiscated gutkha valued at Rs 14.67 lakh from three vehicles. Two individuals were booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Food Safety and Standards Act, an official stated.
