Vadodara, Jan. 31 -- Gujarat Giants registered a historic 11-run victory over Mumbai Indians in Match 19 of the TATA Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi here on Saturday to seal their place in the Eliminator.
It was the Gujarat Giants' first-ever win against the Mumbai franchise after eight previous defeats in the competition, as per the WPL website.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, ending a run of 40 consecutive WPL matches in which teams chose to field, Gujarat posted a competitive 167 for four in their 20 overs.
Openers Beth Mooney and Sophie Devine provided a steady start before Devine was dismissed for 25 off 21 balls. Anushka Sharma anchored the innings with 33 off 31 deliveries.
