Hyderabad, Feb. 19 -- In a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into illegal online gaming operations, officials of GST Intelligence, Hyderabad, have arrested Pankaj Kumar, founder and director of Adsum Advisory Service Pvt Ltd, a firm engaged in fraud detection and digital KYC verification services.
An official statement on Thursday said that evidence gathered during the probe points to the existence of an organised online gaming syndicate valued at around Rs 13,000 crore. The syndicate allegedly operated illegal gaming websites with the support of fintech companies, including payment aggregators, payment gateways and third-party technology service providers.
