New Delhi, Dec. 31 -- The year 2025 closed under a blanket of grey as dense fog gripped the national capital and its surrounding regions on the final day of the year, offering no respite from severe winter conditions.

Visibility plunged to as low as 50 metres in several pockets, severely disrupting road, rail and air movement, even as city residents geared up to usher in the New Year amid hazardous weather.

According to the officials, at least 150 flights were cancelled and over 200 delayed at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday morning.
