Patna, May 1 -- The Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department has issued a public advisory warning about the severe health risks posed by polythene to animals, describing it as a "silent killer" and urged people to adopt responsible waste disposal practices.
Sources at the department said here today that the department has launched an awareness campaign emphasising the need to create a polythene-free environment to protect livestock. The sources said that the citizens have been advised not to dump food waste, vegetable peels, or other edible materials wrapped in polythene bags along roadsides, railway tracks, agricultural fields or near rivers and ponds.
