Vijayawada, July 24 -- Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer has said India achieved a record food grain production of 353.95 million tonnes in 2024, increase of 6.5pc increase compared to the previous year, driven by bumper harvests of key crops like wheat, rice, and maize.

AP Governor and Chancellor of Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University presided over the 57th Annual Convocation of the University held in Swarna Bharat Trust Auditorium in Atkur, Krishna district, on Thursday.

Delivering the Convocation address, the governor said that supportive government policies and schemes contributed significantly towards this achievement, adding that India's agricultural commodities are reaching several countries across the world.
