New Delhi, Feb. 1 -- The Indian government will roll out a Customs Integrated System (CIS) within the next two years as a single, integrated and scalable platform covering all customs processes, union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced while presenting the union Budget 2026-27 in Parliament on Sunday.
The Finance Minister said the utilisation of non-intrusive scanning using advanced imaging and artificial intelligence for risk assessment will be expanded in a phased manner, with the objective of scanning every container across all major ports.
