New Delhi, Oct. 19 -- union Minister for Petroleum Hardeep Singh Puri today announced that the government has widened the import basket of crude to over 40 countries, up from 27 earlier. Furthermore, the country has opened up 99 percent of India's offshore area for oil and gas exploration.
The Minister said the move is part of a four-pronged approach that is shaping "a future where energy is secure, affordable & sustainable."
