Agartala, Feb. 17 -- Tripura Government has dismissed Gautam Sarkar, President of the West Tripura District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, with immediate effect following complaints of rude behavior and unpleasant conduct toward staff and advocates attending his proceedings.

Additional Secretary of Consumer Affairs, Sumit Lodh, said that the decision follows the conclusion of a formal investigation into allegations of misconduct and abuse of authority.

According to an official order, the action was initiated under Rule 8 of the Consumer Protection Rules, 2020.
