Ranchi, Aug. 11 -- Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar will hoist the National Flag at the State-level Independence Day celebrations in Morabadi this year, departing from the customary practice of presiding over the ceremony in Dumka.
The decision follows a proposal from the State Government, which the Governor has accepted.
Traditionally, the Governor unfurls the flag in Dumka while the Chief Minister performs the honours in Morabadi. This year's change in venue for the Governor's participation marks a rare alteration in protocol.
