Bengaluru, March 27 -- A special court on Thursday remanded gold dealer Sahil Jain to the custody of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) till March 29 in connection with the high-profile gold smuggling case involving actress Ranya Rao.
Meanwhile, Ranya's bail plea, which was reserved earlier, is set to be pronounced today by the 64th CCH Sessions Court.
Ranya was arrested on March 3 at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, after DRI officials seized a significant quantity of gold in her possession. Subsequently, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered an FIR based on a complaint by Abhishek Chandra Gupta, Additional Director of DRI.
