Hyderabad, Feb. 17 -- The GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT), a leading engineering and technology institution based at Rajam in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh, has been granted Deemed to be University status by the Ministry of Education under the UGC Act, marking a significant milestone in its growth and academic expansion.
Established in 1997 and supported by the GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, the CSR arm of the GMR Group, GMRIT is known for its academic excellence, strong industry integration and innovation-driven education.
Autonomous since 2012, the Institute has consistently aligned its curriculum with emerging technologies and industry requirements, a statement here said on Tuesday.
