Bengaluru, May 5 -- A global investor consortium that was in the race to acquire a stake in the Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals has expressed disappointment after being excluded from the final selection process, claiming it had been the "lead bid from start to finish" during a six-month evaluation period.
In a strongly worded statement, the consortium said it was "deeply disappointed" despite assembling what it described as a high-profile investment group with ownership experience across the NFL, MLB, EPL and La Liga, along with participation from global sporting personalities.
