Los Angeles, Jan. 12 -- The Running Man is sprinting from theaters to home viewing, with the action-comedy starring Glen Powell set to debut on Paramount on Jan 13, according to Variety.
Directed by Edgar Wright, the film is adapted from Stephen King's 1982 novel of the same name, originally published under the author's longtime pseudonym, Richard Bachman.
The story follows Ben Richards (Powell), a blacklisted blue-collar worker in a dystopian future who enters a deadly televised game show in a desperate attempt to lift his family out of poverty.
To win the USD 1 billion prize, Richards must survive 30 days while being hunted by network mercenaries and ordinary civilians alike.
