Mumbai, Jan. 20 -- Parveen Babi, one of Bollywood's most iconic and unconventional actresses whose glamour and bold screen persona transformed Hindi cinema, today marks her 21st death anniversary.

A fashion icon, box-office phenomenon and cultural disruptor of her time, Parveen passed away on January 20, 2005, at the age of 50, leaving behind a legacy as luminous as it was tragic.

Born on April 4, 1954, into the aristocratic Babi family, Parveen Babi began her professional life as a model before entering films in the early 1970s.
