Agartala, Feb. 24 -- The Tripura government has announced to publish a final GIS-based Master Plan for Agartala towards the planned, sustainable, and resilient urban development, which has a horizon year set for 2045 soon.
In a notification, the government recognised that Agartala serves as the administrative, economic, and cultural center of Tripura, and has experienced rapid spatial expansion, increased population density, and heightened pressure on urban services.
It pointed out that the lack of an updated statutory Master Plan has resulted in unregulated land use changes, traffic congestion, infrastructure strain, and environmental degradation, especially in sensitive and peripheral regions.
