Hyderabad, Feb. 3 -- The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), through its Metropolitan Surveillance Unit (MSU), on Tuesday commenced a three-day Joint Induction Training Programme for MSU staff from Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Thane at the Dr MCR Human Resource Development Institute (MCR HRD), Jubilee Hills.

The programme will continue till February 5.

Addressing the participants, GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan said Metropolitan Surveillance Units play a crucial role as the frontline defence in protecting public health in urban areas. He stressed that timely reporting, verification, and swift response to outbreak-prone diseases remain the core responsibility of MSU personnel.
