Mumbai, Jan. 21 -- Around 24 lakh beneficiaries under the Maharashtra government's Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana have not received the monthly financial assistance of 1500, after payments were halted due to errors during the mandatory e-KYC verification process, officials said on Wednesday.
The state government had made e-KYC compulsory to verify beneficiary details under the scheme. During the process, applicants were asked whether any member of their family was employed in a government job. However, many women reportedly misunderstood the question and selected the wrong option.
Instead of answering "no", several beneficiaries marked "yes", leading the system to identify them as belonging to families of government employees. Unde...
