Ranchi, April 24 -- The Jharkhand government on Friday emphasised decentralised governance and rural development at a Panchayat Incentive Awards ceremony and Mukhiya conference held in Ranchi.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said village development remains central to the state's progress and called for stronger coordination between elected representatives and officials for effective implementation of welfare schemes.

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Dipika Pandey Singh said mukhiyas play a key role in implementing government schemes at the grassroots level.

She said panchayats have received Rs 412 crore in tied funds and Rs 555 crore in untied funds under the 15th Finance Commission, with additional allocations expected. Around...
