New Delhi, Jan. 26 -- Legendary actor 'Dharmendra', who passed away on November 24, 2025, leaving behind an irreplaceable void in Hindi cinema, has been posthumously conferred with the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honour.
The award was announced on the eve of Republic Day 2026, when the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) unveiled the official list of Padma awardees.
Born Dharmendra Kewal Krishan Deol on December 8, 1935, in Nasrali village of Punjab's Ludhiana district, he was the son of school headmaster Kewal Kishan Singh Deol.
