Chandigarh, Nov. 9 -- The death of renowned Indian bodybuilder Varinder Ghuman has taken a controversial turn after one of his close friends alleged medical negligence during the surgery, leading to his demise.
Ghuman, 37, known as the world's first vegetarian bodybuilder, passed away on October 9 at a private hospital in Amritsar during a muscle repair operation.
In a social media post, Ghuman's friend and filmmaker, Rabbi Bajwa, claimed that the body builder was in perfect health before the procedure and blamed the doctors for mishandling the surgery. Bajwa accused the hospital of hiding critical details and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to order a high-level medical inquiry into the case.
