Puri, Feb. 24 -- The Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri has initiated the process for a fresh inventory of the ornaments kept in its three Ratna Bhandaras, officials announced on Tuesday.

Arabind Padhee, chief administrator of the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), presented a detailed 14-page standard operating procedure (SOP) approved by the state government to the Chhatisha Nijog-the apex body representing the temple's servitor organizations-during a meeting on Tuesday.

Padhee told the media that the draft proposal, prepared by the Srimandir legal sub-committee after reviewing the procedures followed during the 1978 inventory, had been submitted to and approved by the government.
