Hyderabad, Dec. 15 -- Freedom fighter and former Revenue Department employee Etukuri Krishnamurthy has earned a rare distinction by becoming the only person in the two Telugu states to be alive and receiving a pension at the age of 104. Now in his 105th year, he is living with his son in Hyderabad.
Born on September 29, 1923, in Etukuru village of Guntur district, Krishnamurthy joined the Revenue Department at Allagadda in Kurnool district in 1948 with a monthly salary of Rs 37 and retired as a Revenue Inspector in 1978. It has been 47 years since his retirement.
