Patna, Feb. 24 -- Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar on Tuesday informed the Assembly that sanitary pad vending machines will be installed in most middle and high schools across the state within the next two months to ensure hygiene and safety for girl students.

Replying to a short-notice question of JD(U) MLA Komal Singh, the minister said the state government has decided to provide sanitary napkins to girls in all schools through vending machines.

He stated that the Cabinet has already approved Rs 40 crore for the project, and the amount has been transferred to the Bihar Education Project.
