Nagpur, Dec. 13 -- Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule took a tough stand today regarding the illegal excavation of 90,000 brass of minor minerals in an area reserved for afforestation in Maval taluka of Pune district by suspending a total of 10 officials who were found guilty in this malpractice.

Four Tehsildars, four Circle Officers, and two Talathis - a total of ten officials found guilty in this malpractice have been suspended today.

ETS measurements revealed that 90,000 brass were excavated over and above the permitted quantity. Criminal and revenue actions will be taken as per the law.
