Bhubaneswar, Feb. 21 -- In a coordinated rescue effort, four of the six Odia youths who were stranded in Thailand have safely returned to Odisha. The returnees - Jayanta Kumar Mallick, Hemanta Kumar Behera, Manaranjan Sahu, and Bijay Kumar Swain,arrived in the state on Saturday bringing relief to their anxious families.

The six youths, residents of Kendrapara and Bhadrak districts, had travelled to Thailand in August 2025 after securing jobs at a plywood company.

However, they later alleged that their employer failed to pay their wages and that they were subjected to severe hardships.

Distressed by their situation, the youths reached out for help through social media, appealing to the Odisha government for assistance in returning home. ...
