Agra, Feb. 16 -- Four men from Uttar Pradesh have been arrested in connection with the firing outside the residence of filmmaker Rohit Shetty, police said on Monday.

Investigators claim the accused have links to the gang of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and carried out the attack as part of an extortion attempt.

The arrests were made during a joint operation by the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) and Mumbai Police. Of the five accused held so far in this phase of the investigation, four are residents of Agra, and one is from Noida.
